About
I am a southeastern archaeologist who specializes in late prehistoric and early historic Native American societies. Thematically, I engage in issues associated with culture contact, the origins and maintenance of social inequality, the materialization of identity, and household archaeology. Methodologically, I examine these issues with a diverse set of analytical techniques that strive to forge a link between theory, on the one hand, and the historical and archaeological records on the other. These empirical techniques include detailed attribute analyses of pottery and architectural remains, univariate and multivariate statistics, and spatial analyses utilizing geographic information systems (GIS).
